Here you will find all questions you might have regarding FDAV
Q.) What is FDAV’s denomination and/or affiliation.
- FDAV is a non-denominational, independent church. We are not affiliated to any other church organization. We are simply a group of believers that love JESUS, follow HIS word, value others, and allow HIM to lead us according to HIS Holy Spirit in us. We strive to be the bride of Christ, and HIS reflection on this earth.
Q.) Is FDAV a “Hispanic” church?
- FDAV is a vibrant, multicultural, bilingual church that strives to be a community of faith, hope and love with a passion to transform lives that will impact the world. We use every tool, including language, that God is given us to share the good news and love of Jesus. We welcome people of all walks of life to come just as they are – come and meet Jesus!
Q.) What’s your dress code?
- Everyone is welcome just as they are! Our main focus is not on people’s appearances, but on Jesus!
Q.) What are your central beliefs as a church?
- One Holy God – Eternally existent in three persons: The Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- The Holy Bible – The inspired, infallible, authoritative source of Christian belief and teaching.
- Man – Created in the image of God but fallen, lost and powerless to save himself.
- Jesus Christ – Virgin-born Son of God Who was crucified to take upon Himself the punishment for the sin of all mankind. He arose from the dead, thereby conquering sin, death and the grave. Jesus will personally return to the earth in power and glory.
- Man’s Only Hope – Believe in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
- We Celebrate – Water Baptism (full submersion in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.) and Holy Communion are among the ways we celebrate our hope in Jesus Christ.
- Healing – Consistent with His earthly ministry, Jesus Christ still offers healing for the physical, relational and emotional pain in our lives.
- The Holy Spirit – Indwells those who receive Christ and empowers believers to live righteous and holy lives. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit, along with its evidences, and the Gifts of the Spirit are available to believers today.
- Lifestyle – When a life is changed by the love of Christ, we begin a journey of becoming like Christ. It is displayed inwardly with love, joy, and peace. It is displayed outwardly in lives of integrity and is shown relationally by love and grace.
- Someday – Life, as we know it, will come to an end. Jesus will return and show Himself to be “King of Kings.” Everyone will be held accountable for the choices of their lives. A permanent, personal relationship with God, without the influence of evil and pain will be established for all who chose Christ. This will be heaven . . . forever.
- The Church – The Body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head, is comprised of all those who, through belief in Christ, have been spiritually changed by the personal work of the Holy Spirit. Believers are called to pursue God’s mission, both collectively and individually. For some it is a vocation (pastors, missionaries, etc.), for all . . . a passion
Q.) How long has FDAV been in existence and have you always been in Dayton, OH?
- Fuentes De Agua Viva originally began as Rios De Agua Viva over 18 years ago with Senior Pastor Jesse Rubio as the original founder and patriarch. FDAV began in Xenia, OH than quickly moved to Medway, OH in order to reach migrant families in the New Carlisle/Tipp City area. As FDAV has grown our locations have also changed in order to accommodate our church growth needs and we continue to look forward to expanding as the Lord leads.
Q.) How many people normally attend services?
- We are a growing congregation made up of about 150 people and counting!
Q.) Do you offer any classes for kids and/or teenagers?
- One of our most exciting ministries within our church is our children’s ministry! We offer high energy and relevant biblical lesson, worship service, and classes for preschooler- middle schoolers called Journey City.
- We currently do not have a youth ministry in place, but the good news is, we are looking to launch junior & senior high class within the next few months! Teens are also welcomed to volunteer as children church teachers’ aides, and/or help with the adult ministry teams.
Q.) Do you offer bible study classes or devotional groups?
- We believe that growing in your faith is very crucial to every believer, that is why we offer various breakout biblical classes for adults (adult students break out from worship service to attend class) including men and women devotional groups.
Q.) What kind/style of music does FDAV worship with?
- We have a dynamic worship team that leads the church with contemporary songs, worshipful choruses and the occasional traditional hymns. Our desire is to acknowledge God’s supreme value and worth in our lives and in corporate, contemporary worship of our church.
